Blog 2: Influence of technology in learning

What influences teachers and students to use technology in the classroom?

Students learn in class.

There are great influences and benefits of technology on learning especially during the Global pandemic in which technology has provide advantages to learning through online. What influences teachers and students to use devices in the classroom is that technology makes information instantly accessible and makes learning easier, such as by boosting collaboration, connecting better with students, etc. For both students and teachers, smartphones, computers, and tablets are already an integral part of daily life. It makes sense that efforts are being made to study how to employ technology in the classroom to give students of all ages relevant learning opportunities.

Digital Native

I agree with the label "digital native" for today's youth, as most kids these days are into technology, and the worst thing is that technology can be so addictive that kids can be brainwashed by it and addicted to it. A "digital native" refers to someone who grew up in the age of digital technology and is familiar with it well, which is why most teenagers are so good with it these days. This technology has been implemented in their time and can be very beneficial for them and for everyone. For teachers (digital immigrants), they get trained on technology and are able to effectively teach the class in very effective and efficient ways. I've seen differences between how digital natives and digital immigrants use technology, such as how digital natives (students) are quick with technology and able to know how the latest technology works while it takes time for digital immigrants to know how to use them. However, that's not a big difference because most digital immigrants are just better with technology everyday as they practice on it. For example, most seniors were not familiar with technology these days, but now they're digital pros, and it's just amazing.

  1. I agree with you concerning the importance of technology. Covid was a challenge that all the world felt that made technology the best and only way that societies can communicate. Learning on the other hand, was one of the societies or communities that technology was required for at - home learning criteria. It also reminds me of isolating procedures and technology was the only way we communicate and receive instruction. Zoom, video conferencing helps the learning process to continue on rolling even though classroom and in-person learning was unavailable. Great work...

  2. I like that you mention that smartphones, tablets and computers are already a part of daily life. This means that incorporating them in the classroom can add some relevance and give students learning opportunities. I also agree on the flip side that technology can be addictive and cause harm to individuals who use it in the wrong way. I also like the picture or meme that you added to this post saying that the older man is a digital immigrant and the little boy is a digital native. so true. It is so cool how much people can pick up the new technology that's always coming out. Thanks for sharing.

Blog 1: Using Technology

Blog 1 Prior experiences using technology My very first-time using technology was so difficult for me. I couldn't figure out how to use it until I played around with it and became acquainted with it, as well as with the assistance of others. It was extremely relaxing knowing how useful technology is and being able to understand how it works. My first encounter with the iPhone, for example, was difficult because I had to use my Apple ID and remember it in order to gain access to the device, and there were many more things for Apple devices, such as keeping it updated to the latest software. However, as I experimented with technology and learned how various devices work, I became acquainted with and gained background knowledge for the future use of new devices. Hope to learn from this class My hope to learn from this class is to be able to gain knowledge on how certain technology works that can be used effectively in future teaching. I also wanted to get familiar with this use of te...

Blog 3: Personal Learning Network

What does it mean to be a "connected" instructor? To be a connected instructor, you actively participate in the global learning environment, which helps develop a personalized network for professional learning. A well-connected teacher allows others to see his progression, suggestions, and ideas in a specific field, especially in the area of education. It kept tracking down records on your improvement and that other colleges or students may learn or add their ideas to what you've contributed on your side. It helps you stay engaged with your students and collaborate more on the idea of learning, like digitally adapting to some inevitable changes or other relevant things that can help the students. Should instructors and students have PLN?  On a worldwide online (or offline) platform, a personal learning network is a group of people who share their innovations, questions, and solutions.
